We depart from the newly renovated Ofelia Plads Hotel next to the Royal Danish Theatre. From here we will pass by the Royal Palace.
As we navigate the historic canals of the old city centre, you will get an idea of what it was like to live on a houseboat and see numerous historic buildings, many of which were built by King Christian IV in the early 17th century. At the end of the Christianshavn Canal, we will drive over Olafur Eliasson’s beautiful Ring Bridge for a great view of the Royal Library.
As we travel through Holmen, the old military district, we will pass the much talked about free town of Christiania, home to its own community of hippies and other generally free-spirited people, as well as the location of the new restaurant NOMA. Just opposite, on the way back, you will have a great view of the new Copenhagen Opera.
