Bicycles on water
Aquapeds or water bikes are special vehicles that allow people to move on the water surface. They work on the principle of water skis and are a structure consisting of a platform and two or more underwater wings.
Aquapeds are usually used for fun, sport or as an alternative means of transport for short distances. Before you start, take a safety briefing. You will be provided with a life jacket, which we recommend you wear if you cannot swim. Others carry it on their bike.
From the water, you will see architecture and landmarks such as the Copenhagen Opera House, pedestrian bridges and the Royal Danish Theatre. Explore the narrow canals on the western side of the harbour, passing houseboats, private yachts and waterfront cafes. The canals are one-way, making the pedalo trip easy and safe as everyone is going in the same direction.
Cross the harbour to the east and see the Circular Bridge, Black Diamond Library and the architectural BLOX building. Drive around Christiansborg Palace, cruise the arched bridges decorated with faces carved into the stone and visit Europe’s oldest stock exchange, the Børsen, with its three dragons on the roof. Then head south to see the colourful buildings in Nyhavn before heading back.
