Enjoy the heart of the Faroe Islands with a local guide. See places like Saksun, Tjörnuvík, Gjógv, Risin and Kellingin and Fossa in one day.

Following the old mountain road from Tórshavn, we arrive at the unique settlement of Saksun. The beautiful village of Saksun is located at the foot of a tiny bay and is surrounded by the lush green mountains of Koppenny and Mælin. You will see a seawater lagoon, a beautiful old church and visit the 16th-century Duvugárðar farm with its stone walls and turf roofs.

Next, we head to Tjörnuvík. The route takes us through the valley from Saksun with ever-changing scenery along the Dalsa River with many small waterfalls. Before reaching Tjörnuvík, we stop at Fossa Waterfall, the highest waterfall in the Faroe Islands.

Upon arrival on the island of Eysturoy, we will admire the view from the road to Slættaratindur, the highest mountain in the Faroe Islands. From there you will see the zig-zag road that we will take to Funningur.

Our last village visit will be the quiet and picturesque Gjógv on the northernmost tip of the island of Eysturoy. Named after the amazing 200-meter gorge that opens out from the village into the North Atlantic Sea.
