Ålesund is a small town in Norway famous for its beautiful nature and traditional Scandinavian atmosphere. In this town you can enjoy magnificent views of the fjords and mountains.

Ålesund, famous for its Art Nouveau architecture, is the cultural center of the Sunnmøre region. It is one of the few towns built in this style that has survived to this day. Beautiful houses with white walls and red roofs that create a cozy and authentic fairy-tale atmosphere.

If you like active recreation, then in Ålesund you can go kayaking on the beautiful Brosundet canal, which runs through the center of Ålesund. And kayaking on the fjord allows you to get as close to nature as possible and feel peaceful.

Get up close and personal with marine life at Atlanterhavsparken, Northern Europe’s largest seawater aquarium and marine science centre. Ålesund also offers world-class fresh seafood. Bro is a great local restaurant that will take you on a delicious gastronomic journey. Another great option is XL Diner, located in the heart of Ålesund. Stop in and try their famous bacalao. Apotekergata No. 5 is located in an old warehouse. This restaurant serves delicious local cuisine made from seasonal ingredients. Every late winter and early spring, you can join local fishermen on the most exotic fishing adventure of the year in Borgundfjord, just outside Ålesund Harbour.

Every late winter and early spring you can join the fishermen on the most exotic fishing adventure of the year in Borgundfjord – just outside the port of Ålesund.

The road is an 8.274-kilometre (5.141 mi) section of Ring Road 64 that connects the island and municipality of Averoy with the mainland at Eide. The road passes through an archipelago of partly inhabited islands and skerries.

Ålesund is the starting point for exploring the Geirangerfjord. In 2005, it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List together with the Nærøyfjord. The fjord features waterfalls, and along its shores are steep cliffs up to 1,400 metres (4,700 ft) high and glaciers.
