Discover the breathtaking beauty of the Hardangerfjord – a region filled with majestic mountains, dramatic waterfalls, serene fjords, shimmering glaciers, and blooming orchards. Stretching 179 kilometers, the Hardangerfjord is Norway at its most enchanting.
Your adventure begins with a scenic train ride from Bergen to Voss on the famous Bergen Railway – a journey National Geographic hails as one of the world’s most spectacular. Marvel at snow-dusted peaks and unspoiled wilderness as you travel across Europe’s highest mountain plateau.
From Voss, a comfortable bus ride takes you to the idyllic village of Ulvik, where you’ll board a boat to glide along the fjord to Eidfjord. Here, you’ll enjoy about three hours of free time to explore – visit the interactive Hardangervidda Nature Centre or feel the power of the iconic Vøringsfossen waterfall plunging into the canyon below. Optional tickets can be purchased on the boat.
Your fjord cruise continues to Norheimsund, with a unique stop at the magical Steinsdalsfossen waterfall – where you can walk behind the cascading water. The final leg of your journey is a relaxing bus ride back to Bergen.
This round trip can also be organised with a private guide-driver (all year round).
A perfect full-day tour for those seeking a rich mix of nature, culture, and pure Norwegian charm – all in one unforgettable journey.
