You will see the Diplomatic Town, built up mainly with villas from the 1910-1920s. Then you will get to the Animal Island (Djurgården), which now houses the main museums of the city. You will drive through fashionable areas, admire magnificent buildings, and the Dramatic Theater and the Royal Opera will be remembered for their architecture.
During the sightseeing tour, you will have the opportunity to admire the Royal Park, which was mentioned in the chronicle back in 1430, and the Town Hall, which is one of the symbols of the Swedish capital. Did you know that the Nobel Prize ceremony takes place in the Stockholm Concert Hall? This tour will show you this iconic place. You will also visit the modern part of Stockholm and see the central square Sergel Torg, the central department stores and the ministry district.
Stockholm has many viewing platforms from which you can admire the panorama of the city and the views around it.
The sightseeing tour includes a walking tour of the Old Town (Gamla Stan). The Old Town is home to the Royal Palace – the official residence of the Swedish royal family, where the offices of the king, queen and crown princess are now located. Next to the palace you will see the Cathedral – this medieval cathedral is famous for its royal weddings and coronations. In the central square of the Old Town there is a museum dedicated to the Nobel Prize and its laureates. During the walk you will also see the German Church with its unique architecture and interesting history, the Iron Boy, the rune stone, the Great and Iron Squares, the sculpture “George defeating the dragon” and much more.
When visiting the Vasa Museum, you will learn about the history of the ship Vasa, which sank in 1628 and lay on the seabed for 333 years. You will see the ship, decorations, cannons, cutaway models of the ship, learn about the life of the sailors, what caused the disaster and much more. In addition to the ship itself, the museum presents various thematic exhibitions telling about the ship’s short voyage and its history to this day. Vasa is the only 17th century ship in the world that has survived to this day.
