The tour begins at the entrance to the Vasa Museum and ends at the Skansen Museum. Transfers to and from the island of Djurgården can be arranged at an additional cost.

When visiting the Vasa Museum, you will learn about the history of the ship Vasa, which sank in 1628 and lay on the seabed for 333 years. You will see the ship, decorations, cannons, cutaway models of the ship, learn about the life of the sailors, what caused the disaster and much more.

In addition to the ship itself, the museum presents various thematic exhibitions telling about the ship’s short voyage and its history to this day. Vasa is the only 17th century ship in the world that has survived to this day.

After visiting the Vasa Ship Museum, you will walk to the Skansen Museum (about 10-15 minutes on foot). The Skansen Museum is the world’s oldest open-air museum. It showcases the whole of Sweden with houses and estates from all over the country. The city block and villages are recreated from buildings that were transported to Skansen from all over Sweden or were built on the museum grounds according to models of the corresponding period.

Skansen has a zoo, many restaurants, the Aquaria Museum and beautiful views of Stockholm from the hills. Here you can see northern wildlife, rare tree species, northern animals and domestic animals.
